Bodylab brings a high-protein twist to a traditional breakfast dish

Bodylab Protein Grod

Danish active nutrition brand Bodylab has put protein into all sorts of formats and scenarios over the years with your general protein powder in Whey 100, to creative, functional products like Proteinella, high-protein Pancake and Waffle Mix, and the canned Protein Coffee. To give fans of the long-running brand even more options when it comes to getting extra protein in their diet, Bodylab has now introduced Protein Grød.

Grød is the Danish word for porridge, and for those that don’t know what traditional porridge is, it’s boiled oats. Based on that, it’s no surprise Bodylab’s newest creation Protein Grød is simply clean and nutritious oatmeal combined with whey concentrate for a great source of protein. Those are the key components of the product, and together they provide 30g of protein a serving, 38g of carbohydrates, 10g of fat, and 380 calories.

Bodylab suggests you prepare its Protein Grød as you would regular oatmeal to turn it into grød or porridge by mixing a serving with a suitable amount of water and putting it into the microwave or boiling it in a pot. Either way you go, at the end of it all, you get a balanced and nutritious oatmeal dish that’s well-balanced in the ratio of protein to carbohydrates.

Protein Grød is available for purchase directly from Bodylab’s direct-to-consumer online store, and while it’s not all that expensive overall, the nutrition product only comes in a small 600g pouch, which is enough powder for eight servings. Bodylab.dk sells the oatmeal and whey combination at 79DKK (11.25 USD) for a single bag or 70DKK (9.97 USD) each for two in two tasty flavors, Vanilla Cream and Cinnamon Bun.
