Controlled Labs always wanted a protein bar in its lineup and the nut butter style was a perfect fit

Controlled Labs Reveals The Story Behind The Demand Bar

Legacy sports nutrition brand Controlled Labs recently returned to the world of functional food with the launch of the Demand Bar, after releasing then eventually discontinuing the Venture Bar several years ago. The Demand Bar is a nut butter-based snack featuring a sweet and smooth consistency and a solid nutrition profile led by 16g of protein alongside 23 to 25g of carbohydrates, 4 to 7g of sugar, and 230 to 250 calories.

We were rather curious about Controlled Labs’ decision to retackle the now incredibly competitive functional food category at this specific point and time, especially after introducing its original Venture Bar all the way back in 2016. The answer is rather simple, in that the brand has always wanted a protein bar in its catalog. Basically, the desire was always there, and after sampling a modern nut butter-based product, it was non-stop from there.

Back when the Venture Bar was around, nut butter protein bars and their signature smooth and creamy consistency were nowhere to be seen; it wasn’t until a little later that they burst onto the scene and became an incredibly popular style of snack. Controlled Labs and that type of protein bar were the perfect fit; one was looking for a reliably good-tasting functional food, and the other has become one of the most popular approaches to bars currently out there.
