The frozen functional space has always been an incredibly enjoyable one, as the texture is always on point, almost the opposite of protein bars, and then alongside that, you get a host of delicious flavors and inclusions. Where they seem to fall down is nutrition, as the protein doesn’t tend to get too big while the carbohydrates and fat do, but that doesn’t appear to be as much of an issue with the newcomer Natty and its self-titled Natty Light Ice Cream.
The promising frozen functional food company Natty is about to roll out into retailers across the country, and it’ll be something worth trying. Compared to the likes of Halo Top or even Enlightened, the tasty-looking Natty Light Ice Cream has a little bit more calories but drastically more protein. In a single pint 14oz pot, just shy of a pint, you get 35g of protein, 13g of fat, and 430 calories, made with premium pasture-raised dairy and A2 protein.

If you want to compare that sort of balance to a classic bar-format protein snack, 35g to 430 is the same protein-to-calorie ratio as 20g to 245, which is better than many protein bars out there, including some of the popular ones. The difference here is that you get that protein in a rich and creamy ice cream made with only natural, organic ingredients, no artificial flavors or sweeteners, and in two classic flavors with Dutch Chocolate and Madagascar Vanilla Bean.
As mentioned, the world of frozen functional food is fun and delicious, although it doesn’t get as many competitors and offer as much variety as we’d like. Natty Light Ice Cream is coming in as the first strong protein-first player we’ve seen in years, and it is hitting the market very soon. You can learn more about the brand and its product on its website and follow along on social as it builds to its supermarket launch in about a month and a half.
