Viking Waffles brings its better-for-you approach to granola in a low-carb offering

Viking Waffle Aurora Berryalis Granola

Viking Waffles is the brand behind its delicious self-titled product, a wholesome and nutritious pre-made waffle, not a mix of anything like we typically get, and its macros are damn impressive with 21g of protein, only 5g of net carbohydrates, and 200 calories. The functional innovator has brought its high-protein, low-carb approach to other foods and formats, its latest venture is into breakfast with Aurora Berryalis keto-friendly granola.

Granola itself is typically a moderate protein, high-carbohydrate, and similarly high-fat food, but in Viking Waffles’ take on the familiar food, it mixes that up as much as it did with its original protein-loaded waffle. Aurora Berryalis is inspired by the magical phenomena of the same name, with a granola made of almonds, various seeds, blueberries, lingonberries, and the natural sweetener monk fruit and the sugar substitute erythritol.

The nutrition profile of the newest Viking Waffles product is far from your standard granola with a light 5g of protein, 15g of fat, and 2g of net carbohydrates in a quarter cup, a fraction of the usual, and the calories land at 170. Aurora Berryalis keto granola does come at a price, as with most functional alternatives, where at vikingwaffles.com, you’ll pay $32 for a 20oz bag of 19 servings, which is a fair amount, although still expensive.
