Axe and Sledge has had a wide range of stimulant-backed pre-workouts available for quite some time, and unlike most other competitors in the sports nutrition industry, it hasn’t differentiated hugely in price. You had the brand’s original Ignition Switch, the GNC-exclusive HWMF (Hard Working Mother F*cker), the potent higher-stimulant product DBAP (Don’t Be A Pussy), the balanced Intake, and don’t forget Seventh Gear.
Not all of those pre-workouts are still available, although starting this week, you can get your hands on a revamped Ignition Switch, which does a little more than revamp the formula. Axe and Sledge has turned its long-running Ignition Switch pre-workout into a cost-effective competitor at $34.99. It capitalizes on the currently very popular budget-friendly trend in the fast-paced category and is now the brand’s cheapest pre-workout.

Axe and Sledge has stripped down its Ignition Switch pre-workout into the formula you can see above, which is right on what we’ve been seeing in other cost-effective supplements in the popular category. You get a few electrolytes and 3.4g of beta-alanine to take care of performance, 4g of pure citrulline for pumps, then to lightly bring home the energy and focus, there is half a gram of choline bitartrate, 50mg of theobromine, and 150mg of caffeine.
The 2025 edition of Ignition Switch does leave the door open to double serve, as even at twice everything, the dosages aren’t anything we haven’t seen before, and it’ll bring the caffeine up to a stronger 300mg plus the pump-powering citrulline shoots to 8g. As mentioned, Axe and Sledge has brought the price of the pre-workout down to $34.99, $15 under the likes of Intake and HWMF, for a tub of 30 servings or 15 if you double up.
