The Active Series is a new series of supplements emerging from GAAM Nutrition that adds a bit of extra functionality to popular categories like a protein powder with added creatine and BCAAs, and a clear whey with added BCAAs and enzymes. The family has expanded once again this week with GAAM Active Hydration, an electrolyte-based product for the line, and like the others, it offers more than your standard supplement in the category.
The twist in GAAM Nutrition’s Active Hydration is not as complex as that of its other Active Series innovations, as there aren’t any active ingredients in it beyond electrolyte sources. The difference makers with this next to say anything else, the brand and its parent company, Proteinbolaget, has in hydration is the dosages. The house brand has packed a fair amount into each serving of this, with 1.697g of combined electrolytes, mostly potassium.
The precise breakdown of electrolytes in GAAM Active Hydration is 1.012g of potassium, 484mg of sodium, and 201mg of magnesium, giving you well over a gram, in fact, over one and a half grams, which is a rarity in hydration supplements. The house brand’s retailer, Proteinbolaget, actually sells the product in individual stick packs at 12 kr (1.26 USD) a piece, but it’s much better value in the 30 and 60 bundles, working out to 8.15 kr each.
