Star tones down the sweetness of three flavors of Whey 80 and adds them as lighter alternatives

Star Nutrition Less Sweet Whey 80

In Europe we’ve seen a few supplement companies do something that you likely wouldn’t see here in the US, and that is make a lighter version of a flavor. These aren’t usually improvements or replacements, they are purely an alternative for fans who may like the original but could do with less intensity. House brand Star Nutrition from the Swedish retailer Gymgrossisten has gone and done precisely that for its Whey 80 protein powder.

Gymgrossisten has taken three flavors of Star Nutrition’s whey-powered protein supplement and simply made them not as sweet. You can still get your hands on the sweeter originals, as they’ve remained untouched, and the lighter alternatives are labeled as “Less Sweet”. There is your standard Chocolate, the coffee-themed Ice Coffee, and Strawberry, all offering the same flavor focus although the sweetness level has been toned down.

There is no difference in price, again, they are essentially additional options, not anything overly special. In the case of Star Nutrition’s Whey 80 protein powder, that is 299 kr (31.24 USD) for a one kilogram bag, plus all of the usual bulk bundles and discounts the retailer and house brand have to offer.
