Introducing BamJam and its high-protein no-added-sugar fruit spread

Bamjam Protein Fruit Spread

The functional food industry continues to surprise with new and innovative products, formats, and flavors week after week, and the fun and excitement never stops. BamJam is the one giving us the dose this week with its incredibly intriguing BamJam Protein Fruit Spread. It is a sweet and fruity spread to throw on bread, cereal, whatever you like, but instead of being jam-packed with sugar — no pun intended — it’s more about high protein.

BamJam founder Cristian Gaggi says, “I grew up on PB&Js, but as an adult, they just weren’t cutting it. I needed fuel, not a sugar crash”. His solution is a high-protein fruit spread that comes with 8g of protein per serving, thanks to its use of collagen, additionally supporting hair, skin, nail, and joint health. The innovation is also free of artificial dyes and high fructose corn syrup, and doesn’t have any added sugar, keeping the nutrition within reason.

We haven’t seen the complete nutrition breakdown, although in that serving providing 8g of protein, we know there is 1 to 3g of fiber, again, no added sugar, and 60 to 90 calories, so there is definitely plenty of carbohydrates at play. The product will be best considered a better-for-you alternative to traditional fruit spread or jam, and it has plenty of flavors.

BamJam is debuting its Protein Fruit Spread in the sweet and fruity Raspberry and Strawberry, and Grape. The brand provided a range of calories but not protein, meaning while the carbohydrates will differ greatly, all three flavors will have 8g of collagen-powered protein per serving. BamJam has only announced itself and product this week, and plans on bringing it to market within the coming months, closer to the end of the year.
