The third and final entry in the latest drop of supplements from MuscleTech is Plasma Whey, launching alongside Plasma BCAA and the loaded pre-workout Stacked Pre, all of which are now available at The Vitamin Shoppe. The price of the protein innovation from the major retailer is $34.99 for a small 1lb tub of 12 servings. Plasma Whey is a more premium competitor in the busy category, and it uses a similar sort of innovation to Plasma BCAA, hence the name.
The nutrition profile of MuscleTech’s Plasma Whey is a bit above the usual with 30g of muscle-building protein, 4g of carbohydrates, half of that sugar, 3g of fat, and 160 calories. As mentioned, the protein powder involves an innovation similar to Plasma BCAA in that it utilizes Ingredient Optimized’s ioWhey. Similar to ioBCAAs, ioWhey is put through a precise cold plasma process that drastically improves bioavailability and absorption of the whey protein.
MuscleTech has a blend of ioWhey concentrate and ioWhey Isolate in Plasma Whey, which collectively offer 123% more bioavailability than standard whey sources. Simply put, you need less of ioWhey to get the same efficacy as regular whey protein powder that doesn’t involve the plasma technology. Even if you half serve Plasma Whey for 15g of protein, that is probably closer to 20g, thanks to that better bioavailability, and is obviously worth taking into consideration.
