Cup noodle legend Nissin introduces a frozen meal line with a focus on protein

Nissin Foods Introduces Kanzen Meals

Nissin Foods is best known as the company behind some of the most iconic instant noodle products in the world, including Cup Noodles and Top Ramen, with a long history of accessible, convenient meals. The legacy brand is now expanding into frozen foods with the launch of Kanzen Meal, a line of nutritionally balanced frozen meals built around clean ingredients, essential nutrients, and a notable emphasis on muscle-building protein.

The all-new Kanzen Meal collection has started with three separate options, each inspired by Japanese cooking, with Fettuccine Alfredo, Spaghetti Bolognese, and Shrimp Teriyaki. Again, they’re all clean and nutritious, with the Fettuccine made with enriched macaroni, nonfat milk, broccoli, parmesan cheese, and so on. On the macro side, it has a hefty 23g of protein per meal, 68g of carbohydrates, a fair 8g of that sugar, 17g of fat, and 520 calories.

Nissin Foods Launches Kanzen Protein Meals

The carbohydrates and calories get a little lighter in Spaghetti Bolognese, although the protein drops a pinch to with 21g of protein, 62g of carbohydrates, and 460 calories. They protein could obviously be higher, but we enjoy seeing a mainstream name at least putting some focus on a higher protein balance. Each of the meals is also reinforced with a multivitamin blend consisting of 27 different vitamins and minerals for general health.

Nissin Foods is rolling out its Kanzen Meal series this month and will be a gradual thing, with the company saying the launch and expansion will go right through into the middle of next year. The line is starting fairly small with three high-protein meals to choose from, although we anticipate that to grow as it finds success. You’ll need to look in the frozen section for Kanzen Meals, and they will stand out with their bold yellow branding.
