Starbucks adding protein foam, high-protein milk and protein-loaded lattes

Starbucks Protein Foam And Milk

Protein has been the topic of discussion across the health and nutrition industry this year, and even outside of the space. Mainstream brands have been making the muscle-building macro a key point in marketing and innovation, and something the coffee giant Starbucks is digging deep into later this month. The company is bringing in the use of protein cold foam to its 1,000s and 1,000s of coffeehouses across the country.

Basically, Starbucks’ protein cold foam is a frothy foam that’s packed full of protein and goes on top of your coffee or tea. It adds anywhere from 19 to 26g of protein, basically a scoop of protein powder, and there will be several flavors to choose from in Chocolate, Vanilla, Matcha, Salted Caramel, and Brown Sugar. In addition to that, Starbucks is introducing protein-boosted milk to add as much as 16g more protein to your drink.

Coffee drinkers will be able to add and use the new protein cold foam and high-protein milk where they please, or see them both in action in the upcoming Starbucks Protein Lattes. There will be three flavors of these when they hit the menu, and are made with both of those protein-heavy ingredients. The grande size will land between 15 and 36g of protein, and if you upsize to venti, it could go as high as over 40g of protein.

All of this is rolling out at the end of this month, where consumers will be able to request the frothy protein-packed foam and better-for-you milk, as well as the Protein Lattes, which will be permanent extensions to the Starbucks menu.
