Introducing the Mateina and its energy brew made with yerba mate from the motherland

Mateina Yerba Mate

Mateina is a fresh new name in the saturated energy drink category, and to really compete in today’s market, brands tend to have to do something different to stand out and get some awareness. Metaina has done precisely that with its high-end yerba mate beverage, but it isn’t your standard yerba mate formula. The founders of the brand, Nicolas and Elodie, have actually partnered with a fourth-generation farming family in Argentina, the origins of yerba mate.

Together with their carefully selected source, Mateina uses the highest quality yerba mate in the world, let alone in a functional beverage. That key ingredient is the driving force of the Mateina energy drink, which also relies on organic fruit juices and extracts for a delicious flavor and a dash of the natural sweetener stevia. Yerba mate is a comprehensive source of antioxidants and natural caffeine, which in a 12oz can of Mateina provides a moderate 120mg of smooth caffeine.

Mateina keeps things nice and clean on the nutrition side, despite using its various organic fruit extracts and juices for flavoring, with the Lemon Original variety having just 2g of carbohydrates, none of that sugar, and only ten calories. There are four other flavors on the menu for the newcomer, Mateina and its energy drink, including Mint Limeade, Raspberry Yuzu, Mango Key Lime, and Peach Passion, none of which are carbonated.

You can get a closer look at Mateina and its energy drink through its website, where all of the flavors are available for purchase at $37.80 for a case of 12, which is on par with other premium functional drinks like this. The brand also has a few bundle options, including a sampler with a can of each of the five options at $22.90, and cost-saving bulk packs with two cases down to $3.06 a can, a set of four down to $2.93 per energy drink, and the six-pack drops to $2.84 a piece.
