South Africa’s NPL debuts an energy drink infused with some nootropics

Npl Energy Drink

The strategy of supplement companies adding an energy drink to their selection of protein powders, pre-workouts, and various other sports nutrition categories is no longer a trend; it is just something many brands do. This is also something that happens all around the world, including this week in South Africa, where NPL has debuted its canned, carbonated, and caffeinated NPL Energy, which has more functionality than most.

To elevate and enhance energy, the NPL Energy Drink brings together a variety of B vitamins, touches of tyrosine and theanine at 250mg and 50mg, respectively, a robust 300mg of the common nootropic alpha-gpc, and finally, 150mg of caffeine. Supplement companies tend to show their experience with active ingredients and dosages when they tackle the energy drink space, and that is no different with the South African competitor NPL.

Interestingly, despite being from a health and nutrition company, NPL Energy isn’t supremely low in carbohydrates and calories, sitting at 10g of carbs in a half-liter can, all of it sugar, contributing to a calorie count of 45. There are two flavors available on the launch of the energy and focus supporting beverage with Yellow Army and Black OPS, the former being a smooth mango experience and the latter a sweet cherry recipe.
