Original protein rocky road brand Mountain Joe’s has launched its first supplement

Mountain Joes Shake Awhey

Mountain Joe’s has always been a functional food company, starting out by making a genuinely standout rocky road-like protein bar, then relaunching itself as a broader protein snacking brand with a variety of different edible innovations. The UK-based brand is starting 2026 with quite the surprise, as it has revealed and released something that is outside of its comfort zone in its first-ever non-functional product.

To go alongside its delicious line of protein bars, Mountain Joe’s has dropped a protein powder, aptly named Shake A’Whey. It does feature a quality whey concentrate base with soy isolate and skimmed milk powder as secondary sources, to collectively provide 20g of protein per serving. The other macros are 5g of carbohydrates, most of that sugar, just a gram of fat, and a fairly lean 110 calories, with slight variances from flavor to flavor.

While protein powders debut in a few flavors, being the experienced brand that it is, Mountain Joe’s has introduced Shake A’Whey in a strong seven different options, covering your classics like Chocolate, Vanilla, and Cookies, as well as the not-so-common Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate Caramel, Strawberry, and Banana. They’re all available direct from the brand’s website at £44.99 (60.23 USD) for a 1.8kg tub.
