Bottled energy drink brand State finally gets into the hydration space

State Electrolyte Sport Drink

State Energy, as per the name of the brand, is an energy drink company in Denmark, although it doesn’t produce the usual canned and carbonated beverage. The rather large competitor puts its energy drink in a half-liter bottle, still with plenty of functional ingredients in vitamins, palatinose, taurine, and, of course, caffeine. State Energy also has a protein bar and a more focused vitamin drink officially titled Vitamin By State.

Coming as a flat beverage in a large plastic bottle, State Energy has always had the feel of a sports drink that centers more around hydration. Starting this month, it finally has that association with the introduction of the all-new State Electrolyte Sport Drink. The innovation offers similar to the brand’s original energy drink, although instead of caffeine, it has a mix of maltodextrin, Palatinose, and electrolytes for hydration.

The breakdown of electrolytes in State Electrolyte Sport Drink is not overly loaded, with 300mg of sodium and 60mg of magnesium being the bigger components. The maltodextrin and Palatinose do result in a noteworthy amount of carbohydrates, again, similar to the State Energy Drink, at 19.5g a bottle and 90 calories. The sports drink is due to hit shelves in Denmark shortly, and it’ll have the one Tropical Blue flavor to start.
