Taiwanese supplement company Spark goes the crispy and crunchy route with its protein bar, the Spark Crunch Bar, built with a main body of light, crispy pieces covered in a hard, flavorful coating. It offers a very different eating experience compared to your standard dense and doughy competitor, and the nutrition is pretty good, too. The protein does sound rather light initially, but when you know the weight is 30g, that’s an impressive percentage.
The one catch with Spark and its Spark Crunch Bar is that it doesn’t have too many flavors available, just two previously in a rich and decadent Dark Chocolate, and Uji Matcha, a fitting and popular taste in the brand’s part of the world. Starting this month, there is a third flavor to choose from for the brand’s one and only protein snack in Strawberry Chocolate, seamlessly blending the sweetness of berry with the smooth base taste of a light white chocolate.
The nutrition profile of the new Strawberry Chocolate Spark Crunch Bar includes 12g of protein, less than that in carbohydrates at 10.9g, 7g of that sugar, 5.9g of fat, and 144 calories. The functional extension can be snatched up straight from the brand’s online store at a very reasonable NT$499 (15.90 USD) for a box of eight pieces.
