Zone Energy gets behind the Dragon Quest VII remake with a special edition flavor

Zone Energy X Dragon Quest Vii

Zone Energy in Japan has been picking things up in the flavor innovation department, featuring here at Stack3d on an almost monthly basis with an exciting new taste, variety, or entertaining collaboration. It was only a couple of weeks ago that the beverage brand dropped a half-caffeine energy drink called Absolute Intelligence for students studying for exams. Zone is back at it again at the end of January, launching a collaboration with Square Enix.

For those not familiar with Square Enix, it is a video game developer and is responsible for the Dragon Quest series, including the upcoming revamped release of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. The franchise entry is set to bring the 2000-launched video game into the modern day, and Zone Energy has come on board to support it all. The Japanese beverage brand has partnered with Square Enix for a special edition energy drink called Zone Metal Slime Energy.

The extension gets its title from the enemy of the same name in Dragon Quest VII, covering the can in silver with the face of a Metal Slime. We’re not sure what flavor fans will be getting inside, maybe something along the lines of slim like a sweet citrus; either way, it’ll only be around for a limited time with the brand’s usual 150mg of caffeine per bottle.
