Mu is one of the bigger, more mainstream names in supplements in Brazil, and while it comes off very playful and broad, it still digs into some of the more notable sports nutrition categories like creatine and pre-workout. The name of its signature pre-workout is Exquenta, and like many others in that part of the world, it comes with an extremely straightforward formula that combines palatinose for fuel, taurine, and 150mg of caffeine for energy.
Caffeine is one of the few ingredients supplement companies in Brazil can use to power performance, although for those who don’t necessarily want the energy buzz, Mu has now released a caffeine-free version of Exquenta. It looks as though the brand hasn’t stopped there either, as the Exquenta spin-off also has no taurine, more carbohydrates at 25g a serving, and added electrolytes at a combined 860mg for hydration and endurance.
Mu’s newly released caffeine-free Exquenta is really more of a hydration supplement than a caffeine-free pre-workout, or really a pre-workout of any kind. The brand has still given it the pre-workout name, though in Exquenta, and it’s actually more expensive. The cost on a full-size 15-serving tub of the latest from Mu is R$149.99 (28.86 USD), with only one of the four original Exquenta flavors to choose from in the refreshing Tropical.
