The sports drink giant Gatorade already has a few different electrolyte-fueled, hydration-supporting beverages on the market in its signature Thirst Quencher, the vitamin-reinforced Gatorade Fit, the sugarless Zero, and the premium Gatorlyte. The long-running company has introduced something that fits in between all of those, or right in between the original Gatorade Thirst Quencher and the completely sugar-free Gatorade Zero.
The all-new Gatorade Lower Sugar is a rather interesting entry in the sports drink selection, and it’s just like Gatorade Thirst Quencher and Zero regarding electrolytes, with 50mg of potassium and 160mg of sodium. Where the Lower Sugar spin-off separates itself is that it has 75% less sugar than Thirst Quencher and slightly more than Zero, sitting at 5g of carbohydrates, all of it added sugar, and 20 calories in the 12oz bottle.
Another feature of Gatorade Lower Sugar is that it doesn’t rely on the likes of sucralose to amp up the sweetness without as much sugar. The beverage proudly uses no artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners, with stevia stepping in to dial up the taste. Gatorade’s rather interesting new addition is rolling out to stores in 12, 20, and 28oz sizes and four fruity flavors with Lemonade, Fruit Punch, Rain Berry, and Glacier Cherry.
