Time and time again, we say the world of functional food is one of the most fun and innovative spaces in the health and nutrition industry, and newcomers like Hookd continue to prove that. The young and creative company has debuted with a chip-style protein snack, although this is quite different from the likes of Quest or Legendary’s tasty Protein Chips. Hookd makes a bag of crispy, high-protein chips made from chicken.
As difficult as it may be to believe, Hookd Protein Chips have just three key ingredients outside of flavoring with chicken, chicken fat, and gluten-free flour. Baked together with the likes of salt, spices, and seasoning, the brand has created a 30g pack of chips providing 17g of protein. That is all coming from quality chicken and alongside low carbohydrates of around 5g, practically none of that sugar, and between 100 and 110 calories.
We’ve certainly seen our fair share of protein chips; however, none quite as innovative as this, regarding the small selection of ingredients it’s relying on and the impressively lean nutrition profile it delivers. Hookd is one of the many standout brands emerging in the Indian market, and it has launched its signature snack in two flavors, Classic and a locally-inspired Tandoori, available directly for as little as ₹120 (1.27 USD) a bag.
