Universal have been in the protein battle for a while now. Their Ultra Whey range holds it’s own against the whey champs Optimum Gold Standard, Muscle Milk and Dymatize Elite. However Universal have been M.I.A. in the casein protein department. The night time release formula from Optimum was the king until Dymatize stepped in with a large 4lb tub that did some damage with it’s price.
Universal have put on their gloves and taken a step in the right direction by releasing a 2lb (no 4lb yet) competitor, Casein Pro. It is reasonably priced and should grow in size and variety as the powder gets more popular.
