Big Blend is the one and only protein offering from the D-Stunner brand Betancourt. Before the company took on it’s modernized label layout the whey formula was quite difficult to locate, only a handful of places stocked it but even they weren’t overly reliable. Now that the rebranding is in full affect, Big Blend is slowly making it’s way out to retailers with concrete availability. However if you are a fan of the current Proteosynthetic edition, Betancourt have made a number of changes for the new freshly labeled version.
Previously the brand loaded up the supplement with 22g of protein which has now been downgraded to 20g. Allowing Betancourt to promote the 40g count on the front of the bottle from 2 servings. It used to run with 4g of carbs with 2g sugar, now 8g with 5g sugar. The fat total has gone up from 2g to 3g, and the overall calorie count, despite losing 2g of protein per scoop, has gone from 120 to 140.
Big Blend also used to carry a heavy load of extras on it’s facts label with an amino acid blend, BCAA complex, glutamine matrix, and an enzyme combo. It doesn’t list those first three but Betancourt have kept on the enzyme blend and added lactalbumin hydrolysate to it, pusing it’s total number of features up to 11. While Betancourt did manage to add to Big Blend’s enzymes list, they unfortunately subtracted from it’s range of protein forms. Originally the complex consisted of whey concentrate & isolate, milk, egg, casein phosphopeptides and rice protein. Of those 6 forms the updated Big Blend has 5, of which it has dropped whey isolate to obtain.
The protein powder will still be available in two sizes, 28 and 60 servings. With 4 of the previous 5 flavors still on the menu, chocolate, vanilla, cookies and white chocolate. Leaving vanilla cappuccino out in the cold. Most Betancourt retailers should be popping up with the new Big Blend soon, so if you’re a fan keep your eyes peeled.
