Scivation release Psycho’s formula, ANS Ritual still holds the hype for April

After seeing the sample shot of Scivation’s new pre-workout Psycho it was difficult to not get excited. Especially since the brand said they had been working on the formula for two years. Now a week or so after the product was announced. The company have indirectly released the ingredients of the next generation supplement as well as a product picture for the big reveal.

Psycho will officially have 60 scoops per tub. Which is quite a lot compared to others in it’s category that sit on 30 to 45. With 3 servings making up the maximum dose, the formula will last you a strong 20 workouts performing at it’s best. Nothing has been said about different sizes or flavors but for now a 240g ragin’ punch bottle can be confirmed.

The rare thing with a lot of supplements these days is label transparency and even though Scivation didn’t come through in that area. The blends making up Psycho are relatively well divided giving you a ball park idea of just how heavily dosed each element really is. The first proprietary on the list is titled the limitless muscle blend, and it is made up of creatine, beta-alanine, taurine, and a unique form of Co-Q10 called ubiquinol. The total weight of the combination is 5.5g across 3 scoops. Giving Scivation more than enough room to get a proper amount of creatine in there.

Next up is the blow up blend with a maximum dose volume of 2.61g. Sliding in to the second Psycho complex is citrulline malate, enzogenol, norvaline, and Capros a registered form of phyllanthus emblica or more commonly known as Indian gooseberry. While the majority of the contents in that group are a little hard to judge, the citrulline is quite obviously an ingredient Scivation did not want to take seriously. The complexes 3 scoop weight may be 2.61g, however some of that won’t be citrulline, and even if all of it was. It still wouldn’t compare to the doses we have seen in some of the market’s most successful pre-workouts like Monster Pump with 4.5g, BB.com’s Scream with 3g, or the soon to be released Ritual from ANS also with 3g.

The last mixture of components on Psycho’s label is titled the possessed cognitive blend. Clearly it is the most stylishly named complex of the 3, but unfortunately it is also the most worrying. With a total weight of 341mg from the maximum serving amount, Scivation have thrown together caffeine, huperzine A, celetium tortuosum, and rauwolscine. As you might have guessed from the proprietary’s volume the part that is most disappointing is the caffeine. With a number of companies using 150mg per scoop and limiting users to maybe two or three scoops at any one time. Psycho only contains 66mg per serving, giving pre-workout addicts a disappointing total of 200mg from the 3 scoop maximum.

With the slow release of details and imagery, Scivation have done a good job at hyping the supplement. Whether or not it will live up to that hype is a question only a sample will answer. It may be a very basic mix of ingredients but then again, some of the best pre-workouts on the market are exactly that. Putting Psycho’s features aside, it is going to have a bit of trouble come launch day. Since the item is set for an early April release. It has accidentally placed itself right in the line of fire.

The science based pre-workout Ritual that ANS stripped down and detailed every bit of from ingredients to doses. Is another product set for an April launch. Sadly based on the information released from both brands, Scivation has an uphill battle. Psycho does look like a unique supplement, it isn’t competitor inspired, and it has a collection of rare and classic ingredients. However with all the promotion going into Ritual and the hype it’s big reveal built. Regardless of which formula comes out in April first. The best thing to do would be to keep your wallet closed until ANS Performance release their product.
