Major Mr. Olympia sponsor Ultimate Nutrition files for bankruptcy

Despite being one of the biggest sponsors of Joe Weider’s Mr. Olympia Weekend, some unfortunate news came in over the weekend on the veteran company Ultimate Nutrition. Thanks to the guys over at PricePlow who continue to keep up on all the drama in the supplement industry, word has spread rather quickly on Ultimate filing for bankruptcy. For those that don’t know the brand too well or aren’t overly familiar with any of their products. Ultimate are known for a number of formulas such as the pre-workout Horse Power, the legendary mass gainer Muscle Juice, and more recently the beef protein CarneBolic. According to announcements the Connecticut manufacturer filed for bankruptcy on Wednesday the 17th of this month, “blaming its financial problems on regulatory scrutiny that led to a battle over its $13 million bank loan”. While a few different things could happen from here, if you’re like us you’ll be hoping for a clearance sale, which with a range as big as Ultimate’s would have something for everyone.
