ChromaDex agrees to purchase division of HPN responsible for Niagen

chromadex acquires niagen

High Performance Nutrition, better known as HPN, has agreed to sell the division of its company responsible for the proven and effective ingredient, Niagen nicotinamide riboside. It is the global nutraceutical company ChromaDex that has purchased the division of HPN which includes the brand name Niagen.

As a result of the agreement, HPN will be discontinuing its long-running Niagen supplement, N(r). For loyal users of the product and its ingredient, the good news is ChromaDex does plan to continue forward with Niagen although under the all-new brand name, Tru Niagen.

Sean Torbati, the CEO of HPN has said “As much as we hate to say goodbye to all the amazing relationships and lives we changed promoting and educating those in need, I am relieved by the assurance that NIAGEN isn’t going anywhere any time soon. Who better than TRU NIAGEN to take the reins.”

To add to the news, HPN has confirmed that it is currently working on another supplement to take the place of N(r) in the anti-aging category. You can see the full press release from HPN about the sale of its Niagen division over at abnewswire.com.
