Amazon is now delivering packages in a self-driving device

From Stack3d

The online retail giant Amazon, already has a wide variety of delivery methods when it comes to ordering from its website. Today it has introduced arguably its most innovative delivery method to date with the fully electric, self-driving machine, Amazon Scout.

Amazon Scout is a small, six wheel, battery-powered robot that is now delivering packages in a neighborhood in Snohomish County, Washington. The machines move at walking pace along the sidewalk and currently make deliveries Monday through Friday during the day.

To possibly have your package delivered by one of six Amazon Scouts in action, shoppers in Snohomish County simply need to place their orders online as per usual. It will then either be delivered by one of the retailer’s partner carriers or a futuristic Amazon Scout.
