RXBar introduces its higher protein, real food layered bar RXBar Layers

The original real food functional brand RXBar has introduced an all-new protein bar today, its only other protein bar in fact, outside of its flagship RXBar. The brand’s new product is ‘RXBar Layers’, and it is indeed a layered protein snack. True to its name, the protein bar has two main layers, one with clean and nutritious ingredients, and the other creamy nut butter.

Ingredients

RXBar Layers is made of simple and clean ingredients, much like the original RXbar with dates, egg whites, chocolate, coconut oil, honey, natural flavors, and sea salt. There are, of course, nuts in there for the nut butter, although they vary between the two flavors with peanuts in the Peanut Butter Chocolate and almonds in the Chocolate Almond.

Nutrition profile

The nutrition profile on an RXBar Layers is not on par with your typical protein bar balance of 20g of protein for around 200 to 220 calories, more in the realm of the Outright Bar and other real food snacks. Each bar provides 14 to 15g of protein, 13 to 14g of fat, 20 to 21g of carbohydrates with 13g of that sugar, none of which is added sugar, and 250 calories.

RXBar does notably continue the theme from its flagship protein bar and lists the amounts of certain ingredients on the front of RXBar Layers’ wrapper. It confirms the product is made with precisely three egg whites as well as one date and 29 peanuts for the Peanut Butter Chocolate flavor and two dates, eight almonds, and seven cashews for Chocolate Almond.

Where to buy

The all-new RXBar Layers is now available for purchase from the RXBar website in boxes of 12 for just over 30% more than a box of the regular RXBar at $33.99. If you’d like to try both the Peanut Butter Chocolate and Chocolate Almond flavors but don’t want two boxes, the brand has put together a variety bundle with six bars of each for $1 more per box at $34.99.
