Optimum drops an all-new Gold Standard RTD and infuses it with vitamins and minerals

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Protein Shake

Gold Standard Plant Protein isn’t the only supplement Optimum Nutrition has decided to release here in September; it has also rolled out a new on-the-go product for its Gold Standard family. The brand introduced a similar product back in 2020 at GNC with the Gold Standard 100% Whey RTD, and it was reasonably lean with 24g of protein, all from whey, as low as 3.5g of fat, 6 to 7g of carbohydrates, and 150 to 160 calories.

Optimum Nutrition’s latest Gold Standard protein RTD can be seen in the image above, going by the slightly different name of Gold Standard Protein Shake. The new product is a bit leaner with the same 24g of protein per carton from a blend of whey isolate and concentrate, only 3g of fat, around half the carbohydrates at 3 to 4g, and marginally lower calories with 130 in the Vanilla flavor and 140 in Chocolate.

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Protein Shake

While the mildly leaner macros are a nice touch, Optimum Nutrition has another notable change going from the Gold Standard 100% Whey RTD to Gold Standard Protein Shake, which makes it a more comprehensive supplement. The brand has packed the ready-to-drink product full of 24 different vitamins and minerals to support general health, wellness, and immunity.

Optimum Nutrition’s newest on-the-go protein-packed shake is available straight from its website at $28.99 for a box of 12, although you might want to head to Walmart. The supermarket’s online store is now stocking the Gold Standard Protein Shake in more cost-effective bundles of four at $8.48. Walmart also has that case of a dozen RTDs, lower than Optimum’s direct price and the four-pack, at $24.98, working out to $2.08 per shake.
