Blocks of protein-packed chocolate are rather common in the UK and Europe, with many functional food companies and active nutrition brands including them in their lineups with various points of difference and flavors. Muscle Nation down under in Australia recently added something along those lines with Baking Chocolate in regular and vegan versions, which is a large block of high-protein chocolate, but intended for baking, not casual, guilt-free snacking.
Muscle Nation has returned to that style of product this week and introduced essentially the same thing, although as that more familiar block of chocolate to have as a better-for-you treat or on-the-go snack. Joining the Australian brand’s massive selection of offerings in the major supermarket Coles is Protein Chocolate, with a large 100g block of delicious chocolate that is higher in protein than traditional chocolate blocks and much lower in sugar.
An entire pack of Muscle Nation’s Protein Chocolate has 22.2g of protein and a low 3.4g of carbohydrates, however high fat, leading to a close to 500 calorie count. For the product’s Funfetti Cake flavor, the block itself is white chocolate, then spread throughout are colorful rainbow sprinkles, vanilla biscuit crumbs, and sweet raspberry pieces. There is also a classic Cookies & Cream flavor, with both options out now in Australia, again, at the many Coles locations.
