House brand GAAM Nutrition from Swedish retailer Proteinbolaget has a new beverage on the market alongside its signature GAAM Energy Drink, which comes in a wide variety of tastes and can be found in major supermarkets and convenience stores throughout the country. The latest innovation out of GAAM is actually a collaboration with hair product specialist BHBD, and while its primary purpose is beauty, it is still an energy drink, as it has as much caffeine per can as a slim 330ml GAAM Energy at 180mg of natural caffeine.
Driving the health and wellness portion of GAAM Nutrition and BHBD’s collaboration is collagen, known for its ability to support hair, skin, nail, and joint health, biotin, and hyaluronic acid, another common beauty and joint health component. The house brand also openly lists the amount of collagen you get in every serving of its BHBD partnership at 5g a can, which is not as high as you’ll get in some of the dedicated collagen supplements out there, but for a drink that you can take with you on the go, it’s certainly respectable.
The price of a can of Proteinbolaget, GAAM Nutrition, and BHBD’s collaboration is 32 SEK (3.00 USD), which is a fair bit above that of GAAM Energy Drink, but again, you get a lot more functionality in this one. It has the same energy at 180mg of natural caffeine alongside the beauty-supporting collagen, biotin, and hyaluronic acid. The nutrition profile of the product is equally as clean with under a gram of carbohydrates, 200mg of sugar, no fat, and 5g of protein coming from the collagen, ending on a calorie count of 23.
