5-Hour Energy is synonymous with the energy shot category; in fact, it is the undeniable king of the space, and that position doesn’t seem to be wavering with its constant effort in innovation with various versions and tasty flavors. The energy shot company has dipped outside of its comfortable category and into things like energy drinks, although its latest creation is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before, and keep, in mind it is not April Fools’ Day.
Officially launched in the last few days is the unique 5-Hour Energy BBQ Sauce, and obviously, coming from the brand that it is, this is not your traditional BBQ sauce. In terms of taste, 5-Hour Energy aims to provide a familiar BBQ sauce experience in a sweet and spicy Peach Mango flavor. Where the twist comes in is all of that taste is infused with a hit of energy, like the brand’s famous shots, packing 60mg of caffeine in two tablespoons of the sauce.
The sauce isn’t completely guilt-free saucy energy either, as 5-Hour Energy BBQ Sauce has a fair amount of carbohydrates at 18g in that two-tablespoon serving, almost all of that is sugar at 17g, with no protein or fat, and a calorie count of 70. To say this is a unique, almost unbelievable product is an understatement, but it is indeed real and quickly sold out upon release last week, although thankfully, a restock of the energizing BBQ sauce is not far away.
