Hydration brand Cwench expands into protein with whey and plant-based competitors

Cwench Protein Powder

Cwench is a relatively new brand in the world of health and nutrition, having introduced itself half a year ago with a sports drink and matching supplement. Cwench Hydration has all of the necessary components to support hydration, with key electrolytes plus BCAAs to improve muscle recovery, and for a guilt-free touch, there is no sugar or carbohydrates, and a low of ten calories a bottle. Cwench is following those two items up and closing out the year with a pair of protein powders.

Now available from the still very young company is Cwench Whey Protein and Cwench Vegan Protein. The former gives you 22g of protein per serving from a blend of whey concentrate, isolate, and hydrolyzed whey for fast and slow absorption, alongside 3g of carbohydrates, 1.5g of fat, and 110 calories. As for Vegan Protein, there you get 23g of protein from a mix of pea, pumpkin seed, lentil, and chia protein, a higher 6g of carbs, a gram of that sugar, 2.5g of fat, and a total of 130 calories.

While Cwench entered the industry with its sights strongly set on hydration with a beverage and powder supplement, its latest move shows it clearly has ambitions to go beyond the increasingly popular category and become a more complete brand. Protein powder is an incredibly competitive market, more so than hydration, but Cwench is now in there with Cwench Whey Protein and Cwench Vegan Protein, both available direct at $59.99 for a tub of 25 servings in Chocolate and Vanilla flavors.
