You may remember that around a year and a half ago, it was confirmed that a documentary about Chris Bumstead’s success in bodybuilding, as well as the story behind his supplement company Raw Nutrition, was in development. All this time later, we’ve finally got a first look at the upcoming film as its release is right around the corner, and it looks like another great effort from Generation Iron, the team behind The Raw Story, and many other great bodybuilding and fitness documentaries over the years.
The Raw Story is primarily about Raw Nutrition, as per the name, the story of the supplement company, where it began, how it all played out when five-time Classic Olympia champion Chris Bumstead came on board, and the ongoing effort and struggles that came with that. Raw has become a powerhouse brand, with many popular products to its name, like Thavage, the Raw Essential Pre-Workout, the Bum Energy Drink, great-tasting protein powders, and many other reliably effective supplements.
Generation Iron and Raw Nutrition’s The Raw Story looks like a worthwhile watch for those in the sports nutrition industry, as it’ll give you a look behind the scenes, personally and business-wise, at one of the biggest names in the business at this time. It’ll also be a great watch for the mountain of fans and followers of Chris Bumstead, as you get to see that he is far more than a successful and now legendary bodybuilder; he owns part of Raw and puts a lot of time and effort into its development.
The Raw Story is slated to release in about three weeks on Friday, the 25th of October, going straight to streaming, and you can pre-order it now on Vimeo at $13.99 to stream and download. It will hit other major platforms, including Prime Video, Apple TV, and Google Play, but Vimeo is going to be the first.
