The better-for-you candy company SmartSweets is starting 2025 on the right foot with two exciting new products, although one of them fans may remember for a few years ago. The items from the ever-creative brand are Cinnamon Bears and SweetChews, the latter being the one that’s not completely new. SmartSweets SweetChews came to market back in 2020, and now, for the revamp, it promises to have made the low-sugar candy better, presumably from the eating side of things in terms of taste and texture.
As a quick refresher, SmartSweets SweetChews are soft and flavorful, individually wrapped candy pieces, very similar to the classic Starburst candy. The original had bags consisting of three different flavors in Strawberry, Mango, and Watermelon but the latest iteration has switched to two in Cherry Lemonade and Pink Punch. The nutrition is as low as you can expect from SmartSweets, with a 45g bag of the new SweetChews having just 2g of sugar, 16g of fiber, and a reasonable 130 calories.
The other treat SmartSweets has lined up for the New Year is the entirely new Cinnamon Bears, and the name says pretty much everything you need to know about its format. It is a bag of soft and chewy gummy bears, a shape the brand is certainly familiar with; however, this one has a spicy touch of cinnamon. The macros here are about the same as the new SweetChews, with 4g of sugar in a 50g bag from 27g of carbohydrates, 3g of that fiber, and a marginally higher calorie count of 150.
There are a few SmartSweets retailer partners out there with both the individually wrapped, Starburst-like SweetChews and Cinnamon Bears already in stock, including the Canadian online store well.ca. As far as we know, this product isn’t going to be limited to any particular region or store, and availability will eventually be coming to the US and Canada, and of course, SmartSweets own website where there might even be a few extra custom accessories.
