Refreshed Red Bull Zero roll-out confirms its complete set of sweeteners

Sweeteners In Red Bull Zero

Energy drink giant Red Bull announced some big changes to its sugarless, low-calorie energy drink at the packed NACS Show last year in Las Vegas. The beverage we’re talking about is Red Bull Zero, which the international company decided to refresh, changing its look, the ingredients relied on for flavoring, and the actual taste of the product. Red Bull reworked the 2025 edition of the Zero variant to taste closer to the signature Red Bull flavor, all while staying true to the core purpose of the beverage.

The refreshed Red Bull Zero has since made its way to market, rolling out to coolers and retailers across the country alongside the New Year, and it has confirmed something we weren’t overly certain about previously. Around the neck of the new Red Bull Zero, it says “with monk fruit”, meaning it does use the natural sweetener monk fruit for its improved flavor. At the time it wasn’t clear whether that would be the only sweetener in there, as the original relied on acesulfame k, sucralose, and stevia.

With the monk fruit-sweetened Red Bull Zero now officially available, we can confirm from its label that it does still use artificial sweeteners. Joining monk fruit in the renewed better-for-you energy drink is erythritol and sucralose, meaning no more stevia or acesulfame k. When monk fruit was placed around the neck of Red Bull Zero, we were wondering if this would be an all-natural flavored approach, and we even had a few readers and followers ask that same question. The long-awaited debut gives us the story straight, and it makes sense as Red Bull does deliver, indeed providing an improved flavor.
