Switzerland’s ok makes a zero sugar version of its mate-flavored energy drink

Mate Zero Ok Energy Drink

The mainstream company ok in Switzerland brought to market some creative innovations last year, and we took notice as they went beyond special editions and flavor extensions into variants and alternative experiences. We got a zero-sugar version of the more potent Caffeine Kick and the very different yerba mate-themed ok energy drink. As alternative as the simply named Mate edition of the brand’s energy drink was, it must have seen success as ok has returned almost eight months later with a spin-off of that beverage.

What the company has done is similar to what we saw in 2024 with its better-for-you, sugarless Caffeine Kick; there is now a Mate Zero ok energy drink. As its core, the latest from the brand is very much the same as the original Mate edition, pairing a caffeinated formula with a mate-style taste to it. The newly released Mate Zero has all of those features, including the 73mg of caffeine per can; however, it uses sweeteners to provide its flavor, not sugar, resulting in zero sugar per can and a significantly better calorie count.

The Mate Zero ok energy drink is making its way to stores and stockists as we speak, and you can pick it out from the crowd, including when it’s right beside the regular Mate beverage by its reversed color scheme. The original is green with some gold accents, while Mate Zero swaps that around and has a primarily gold design with various greens filling out the graphic, pattern, and title text.
