GymBeam makes a bar that’s half protein at 25g a piece with under 200 calories

Gymbeam Asap Protein Bar

ASAP is one of the many product lines available from GymBeam in Europe, specializing in the functional food category. The family previously consisted of two items in the ASAP Raw Bar, a protein-packed, wholefood snack, and the gooey-filled ASAP Protein Cookie. This month, GymBeam has debuted the ASAP 50% Protein Bar, and the nutrition balance is rather impressive considering the size, as you get a lot of protein in just a small 50g piece.

GymBeam’s ASAP 50% Protein Bar gets its name from the fact that 50% of its weight is protein, and since this one tips the scales at 50g each, you do indeed get 25g of muscle-building protein. That protein is primarily from hydrolyzed collagen peptides, then soy protein, and milk isolate and concentrate. The other numbers are not too bad, with 11 to 12g of carbohydrates, under a gram of that sugar, about 5g of fat, and a standout calorie count of 187 to 194.

The calories of the ASAP 50% Protein Bar are rare to see, as at 25g of protein, you wouldn’t usually see anything under 200 calories; in fact, most protein snacks at 20g of protein don’t dip under that mark. We don’t imagine the taste on this one being as great as some of GymBeam’s other bars, mostly due to that lean nutrition profile, but there are two flavors to choose from in a sweet Strawberry and wholesome Coconut, available at €1.70 per piece.
