Before the rush of companies rolling out more compact, pump-enhancing capsule-format supplements, way before, there was a brand to do the first hit pump pre-workout in a pill. The brand that really made a statement and in our minds, started the subcategory of pump in capsules, was Purus Labs with Noxygen Liquid Caps. The formula behind the innovation is simple with glycerol and NO3-T sodium nitrate, but it gets the job done incredibly well and has been doing so for several years.
Purus Labs has done a few spin-offs of Noxygen; in fact, the capsule version of Noxygen is a spin-off itself. Coming soon from the extensively experienced sports nutrition company is another variant of the original supplement, and this one sounds like it’ll hit home for longtime fans of that legendary Noxygen Liquid Caps. Purus has announced the coming of Noxygen Black, described as an extreme pre-workout with the usual 30 servings per bottle, and it will also be in the signature capsule format.
We’re interested to see what the brand does with this concept, whether it’s a more intense, potent version with even more active ingredients for muscle pumps, or it goes the stimulant route and adds something for energy and really reinforces that “extreme” description. Either way, we look forward to seeing what Purus Labs does with Noxygen Black, mostly because the original Noxygen Liquid Caps has been long known as that category creator, or at least the one that encouraged others to follow suit.
