Novo Nutrition in the United Kingdom has been all about its high-protein, chip-style snack these last several months, expanding it into different retailers and markets, as well as adding more flavors and sizes to its list of options. The last we heard from the brand was that it made a smaller, half-size Novo Protein Pops, indeed providing half the protein at around 5g, with all of the other macros being scaled down for those that are after more of a snack.
The first product development from Novo Nutrition in 2025 is another expansion of that format, protein chips, with a similar but separate functional food in Protein Hots. The brand has come up with another protein chip offering, although this time the chips aren’t circular; they’re in the classic tortilla chip shape of triangles. The protein content in Protein Hots is much the same as Protein Pops, at 11g in a full-size bag with just over 90 calories.
The nutrition balance of Novo Nutrition’s Protein Hots is right on par with Protein Pops, and on top of the shape of the individual pieces, they’re separated by the flavor. As the name implies, Protein Hots comes in hot, spicy, fiery flavors with two to start in Mexican Chili & Lime and Kickin’ Sour Cream. If it wasn’t clear, Novo is going after Dorito’s in this innovation, looking to provide the same shape and crunch but with a lot more protein and significantly less carbohydrates, fat, and calories, and they’re being offered out to retailers and distributors as we speak.
