It was recently revealed that Grenade was working on a new version of its original protein-packed beverage, the Grenade Protein Shake, with no mention of what sort of changes there would be; it’s just that it’s a new version. After being out of stock almost everywhere for the longest time, the incredibly great-tasting product has returned, and while we haven’t tried it yet, there are some notable differences on paper.
Regarding ingredients, Grenade hasn’t strayed too far from the previous Grenade Protein Shake, still relying on milk to provide the protein and bring a great taste and texture to the experience. The nutrition profiles of the various flavors of the beverage do appear to be different, and for the better. The product now comes with 26g of protein in a 330ml bottle, up from 24, but fewer calories, around the 170s and 80s rather than 90s and 200s.
The lower calories come from quite a bit less fat; for example, the Chocolate Brownie flavor previously had 7.3g, contributing 65 calories to the total, although in the 2025 edition, it’s 4.4g, only bringing 39 calories to the panel. There are five flavors that are continuing for the Grenade Protein Shake in Chocolate Brownie, White Chocolate, Cookies & Cream, Strawberries & Cream, and Chocolate Salted Caramel.
Longtime fans of Grenade’s protein beverage will know a couple of flavors are missing from that list, and that’s because Banana and Chocolate Mint have not made the trip and are essentially discontinued. You can find the refreshed Grenade Protein Shake on the brand’s website, and look forward to seeing it filling shelves and coolers across the United Kingdom and the globe, in the coming weeks and months.
