Legacy brand Powerade makes another series of flavors that’s even more sour

From Stack3d
Powerade Xtra Sour

Powerade introduced its Sour Series last year, bringing a sharp twist to its flagship hydration drink with three bold, sour-themed flavors. The launch featured Sour Blue Raspberry, Sour Green Apple, and Sour Watermelon Lime, offering a familiar fruit base with a bit of tang layered in. The special edition line retained Powerade’s signature electrolyte formula, with well over half a gram of combined electrolytes.

This year, the legacy sports drink brand is expanding on that, with the introduction of Powerade Xtra Sour, a completely new and even more sour set of flavors. The limited-edition range includes Cherry Kicker, Grape Shocker, and Peach Pucker, with the same electrolyte-fueled hydration formula. As per the name of the Xtra Sour Series, all of the flavors are sour, but even more so than the original Sour Series.

Powerade has been in the business of sports drinks for an incredibly long time, being one of the longest-running, most well-known competitors in the category. It was great to see the brand pick up the innovation and creativity with its initial Sour Series and take things even further with Xtra Sour. All of the flavors are rolling out to retailers in 28oz bottles and also at Wendy’s restaurants in a sugar-free option.
