Muscle Nation puts 5g of the notoriously unstable creatine into a fizz-free drink

Muscle Nation Creatine Drink

The diverse Australian brand Muscle Nation has come out with a whole new creatine supplement that is very different from many others on the market, although it’s actually a format that almost all stay away from when it comes to creatine. The innovation is the Muscle Nation Creatine Drink, which comes in a sweet Sour Grape flavor and is now available from the supermarket giant Woolworths at $4 (2.59 USD) for a single bottle.

Muscle Nation’s all-new Creatine Drink promises 5,000mg of classic creatine monohydrate alongside purified water in a compact 250ml bottle. The catch with this situation, as some may already know, is that creatine in solution is ridiculously unstable. Optimum Nutrition’s parent, Glanbia, actually tested creatine monohydrate in solution and found that after just 30 days, creatine broke down by a huge 50%, meaning if you had 5g to start in those same conditions, you’d have just 2.5g after a typical 30-day month has gone by.

The now available Muscle Nation Creatine Drink is non-carbonated, again, it’s made with purified water, and from what we can see, it doesn’t appear to have anything added to combat the notorious instability of the main ingredient. That’s not to say something hasn’t been done, but there isn’t anything mentioned in promotional material, hence why it’s well worth mentioning solution stability tests and what they found.
