LMNT makes a slimmer 12oz sports drink with exactly half the electrolytes

Lmnt 12oz Hydration Drink

The functional beverage brand LMNT sets itself apart in an industry that sees energy drinks hitting the market at an almost weekly pace by focusing on a different benefit. LMNT’s flagship product is a sports drink that, like its powder supplement counterpart, comes with a gram of sodium per can, 200mg of potassium, and 60mg of magnesium. It is entirely about hydration, but unlike most beverages in the category, it comes in a can and several fruity flavors.

LMNT has now made a slimmer and smaller version of its signature sports drink that comes in a 12oz can, down from the original 16oz. The formula inside has been shrunk too, although not evenly scaled, where you get half of the core electrolytes. The numbers come down to half a gram of sodium instead of the headlining 1,000mg, with 100mg of potassium and 30mg of magnesium, as well as zero sugar for a clean calorie count that’s pretty much zero at five.

The only catch with the new 12oz LMNT sports drink is that it won’t be available in all of the same places you can get the 16oz offering. The brand is putting it in the big box retailer Target and select partners in four different flavors, only one of which is available for the original with Pineapple, Black Cherry, a classic Lemonade, and a citrusy Orange.
