Lohilo recreates salty licorice candy in a flavor of its typically tasty protein ice cream

Salty Licorice Lohilo Protein Ice Cream

Different parts of the world have their own favorite flavors, and in many places, those flavors would never work anywhere else. In Nordic countries like Sweden, one of those uniquely popular tastes is licorice, and it does come down to personal preference on this one. No matter how many of them we’ve tried, licorice low-sugar candy, protein bars, ready-to-drink protein, and even a licorice energy drink, the tang and saltiness are impossible to get past.

With that said, licorice is still an incredibly popular flavor in Sweden, and we have further proof of that at the functional brand Lohilo, which has come out with that candy as a flavor of its extremely sweet, smooth, and tasty protein ice cream. The all-new Salty Licorice Lohilo Ice Cream is hitting the market this month in its standard pot size of 350ml, replicating the candy Swedes know and love but with significantly less sugar, 19g of protein, and 266 calories.

Lohilo has great distribution in Sweden, being available in several major supermarkets, making it easy to get your hands on its frozen functional foods. Salty Licorice is expected to be hitting freezers in those partners, and while we’d expect something licorice-flavored to be limited, the brand hasn’t said it’s a temporary extension to its protein ice cream.
