Throwback to when the DMAA-powered Jack3d was just $23 each for a pack of three

Throwback To Usplabs Jack3d

We recently did a throwback on the prices of protein powder to a decade ago, specifically on two of the biggest players in the industry with Optimum Nutrition’s Gold Standard Whey and Myprotein’s Impact Whey Protein. This time around we’re looking back at one of the most legendary pre-workouts to ever hit the market, USP Labs Jack3d, the one that brought the category to a much larger audience with the now non-compliant powerhouse stimulant behind it, DMAA.

The pre-workout Jack3d was not only known for its potent energy and intense focus, but also its incredibly competitive price, even for back then the cost-effectiveness was tough to beat. This time 15 years ago, USP Labs famously had three bottle bundles available at retailers that discounted the already low price of a single tub. Through Bodybuilding.com you could snatch up a tri-pack at $70.95, working out to $23 a piece with 15 maximum servings per tub.

Just to give you a bit of a comparison, at this time, BSN’s legendary NO Xplode pre-workout was $34.98 for a jug of about 17 complete three-scoop servings. Jack3d had one hell of an impact at the time, again, really driving the category and bringing pre-workouts to a new level of awareness. DMAA itself was eventually and effectively banned, which saw the end of the original Jack3d as well as other versions of notable pre-workouts like 1MR, Neurocore, and C4.
