MAN Sports and its original candy-themed ISO-Amino raised the bar for flavors and supplements

Original Man Sports Iso Amino

While candy flavors are incredibly common in the supplement industry these days, that wasn’t always the case. Over a decade ago, it was almost always blue raspberry, fruit punch, and orange mango for things like pre-workouts, amino acids, and any other non-protein categories. That all changed around the time MAN Sports introduced its exclusively candy-flavored ISO-Amino, which debuted in Sour Batch, Blue Bomb-Sicle, Tiger’s Blood, and Might Melon flavors.

MAN Sports may not have necessarily been the first to put candy in the name or indicate that its ISO-Amino supplements tasted like candy, but it was the first to deliver flavor on par with sweets and iconic candies. Back before all of the collaborations you see today, and common candy options like Rainbow Sherbet and Bomb Pop, MAN was the brand that proved that sports nutrition products could taste like the real thing, even in powder that mixes with water.

The line of supplements from MAN Sports has undergone many changes and tweaks over the years, although it long remains as the one that we believe started the whole candy craze that has since became common practice. The brand did follow up the success of its first four candy flavors of ISO-Amino with the Nerds inspired Dorks, Whimps based on the Wonka Runts, Fruittles intended to replicate the taste of Skittles, Mystery Flavor, and Sour Nukes Blue Razz.

If you ever had the chance to try the original Sour Batch ISO-Amino, you’ll know just how different MAN Sports made things. Again, it may not have been the first to do it, although it was the first to do it well, raise the bar, and encourage many others to follow suit.
