Big collaborates with iconic turron candy maker El Lobo for an authentic protein bar

Big El Lobo Protein Bar

Similar to here in the US, there are a few companies on the international scene that do a lot more authentic flavor collaborations than most, and in Spain, Max Protein and its sister brand Big are heavy on partnerships. We’ve seen the company get together with pop culture franchises like One Piece, influencers like Burpee Vet, and several mainstream food companies like Conguitos and Lacasitos, and the iconic chocolate specialist, Cacaolat.

Big is back this month with another authentic collaboration, and it is with a brand it has not teamed up with previously. The supplement maker has gotten together with El Lobo, a fellow Spanish company known for its delicious Turrón candy, which is a block-style nougat treat made from almonds, honey, egg whites, and sugar. Big and El Lobo have collaborated for an authentic protein bar, featuring the candy brand’s signature nougat taste.

The Big El Lobo Protein Bar features a smooth combination of almond nougat and white chocolate, alongside a rather moderate 15g of protein in a 60g bar, 28g of carbohydrates with a low 4g of that sugar, 14g of fat, and a sizeable 280 calories. The protein-to-calorie ratio is not great, although with El Lobo involved, the goal here is to meet in the middle, provide better macros than a candy bar while offering a candy like flavor.
