When it comes to protein snacking, there are several common formats, starting, of course, with protein bars, then you have cookies, protein chips, ready-to-drink protein, even wafers have become more common, and decadent brownies. One of the more uncommon formats being used by a few companies is popcorn, and while there are some out there, it is indeed rare, but a format that newcomer Poptein is making its debut in.
Poptein is a fresh new functional food innovator in India that has crafted its own light and crispy popcorn that is high in protein with 10g of real food protein per serving. We’re not sure how many servings you get per bag or what the other macros are; however, the main focus of the snack is the high protein. Taste is another main feature of the product, and the brand is looking to deliver on that in two rather intriguing flavors.
Poptein hasn’t done any real traditional tastes for its moderate protein popcorn, like butter, sea salt, or something like cheddar. The first two options launching for the flagship functional food are Peanut Butter and Kimchi Cheese, pairing cheese with a tangy spice. Again, Poptein is new onto the scene, with more details available on its website, and availability expected to begin building as its name and innovation get out there.
