Earlier in the year, Red Bull announced a massive global Tetris tournament, where it would endeavour to host regional competitions around the world, eventually culminating in a grand final done in a way that only Red Bull knows how. That grand final recently took place in the United Arab Emirates, and as difficult as it was to believe based on the description, it was indeed played on drones in the iconic Dubai Frame, of course, located in Dubai.
As you can see in the image above and the social media post, Red Bull filled out the Dubai Frame with drones that acted as a screen or board to play Tetris on. Down the left were also drones that tracked the score and a countdown time as the game was played. Competitors stood significantly further away than your traditional Tetris game to get the entire board in view, with a connected controller, and battled it out to find the overall winner.
Red Bull is known for taking things to the extreme whether it be a stunt, a standalone social media post, or general contest, although even knowing all the things it’s done, this has to be one of its most complex, largest, and unique.
