
Red Bull is the strongest energy drink brand in the world, and that dominance isn’t just here in the US, but in many countries across the globe, some of which it is far and beyond the leader. With a large beverage company comes a significant amount of marketing, and Red Bull pushes that to the limit with some of the most interesting activations out there. Its latest effort involves Tetris, although with the extreme Red Bull twist you’d expect.
Red Bull is creating the world’s largest Tetris game by utilizing 1,000s of drones and, of course, the massive 150-meter-high Dubai Frame, in the United Arab Emirates. The idea is that you’ll be able to control the drones using varying-colored lights in standard Tetris patterns to move them left, right, and down, filling the frame piece by piece. It will be an immense amount of effort and there is a bit more to it regarding fans.
What Red Bull is doing is hosting a world championships for Tetris, as starting today through fall, you can play the game, or Red Bull’s hosted game, and do your best to register your highest score. There will eventually be in person national finals across the globe, all leading to the grand final which will be in the sky in the Dubai Frame.
